Donate to Share the Warmth Hillsdale
We depend entirely on local aid, so donations are needed and greatly appreciated.
Did You Know? Share the Warmth is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and does not receive any state and federal funding. Your donations are tax-deductible as allowable by law.
Cash donations allow the center to meet residents' needs as they arise. With your cash donation, you will be helping to provide for those in need and helping us meet our goal to be opened year-round in the future. Cash donations are the best way to donate due to limited space for storage at the center.
Another opportunity to help the shelter is donating nonperishable items.
These items can be dropped off during the months of April through October. From November through March, we will continue to accept items by appointment only. Please call us at (517) 499-8186 or email us to learn more or to set up an appointment.
Since our need of nonperishable items vary throughout the year, the best way to find out what is currently needed at the shelter is to follow us on Facebook for updates and requests for items.
Items we may request include:
- Commercially Packaged Food
- Heave Duty Paper Plates
- Heavy Duty Plasticware
- 9 oz Paper Cups
- Heavy Duty Trash Bags
- Other Paper Goods
- Dish Soap
- Laundry Soap, Dryer Sheets
- Bleach, 409 Cleaner
- Personal Care Items
- Socks, T-Shirts, Undergarments
At Share the Warmth, we strive to build lasting relationships where our guests know, unquestionably, that they are seen, heard, cared for, and that they are not alone. In the words of Jesus,
For I was hungry, and you gave me something to eat. I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink. I was a stranger and you invited me in. I needed clothes and you clothed me. I was sick, and you looked after me. I was in prison, and you came to visit me. When you have done it for them, you have done it for me.
Matthew 25:35-37
